Dive Sites Siquiijor
Paliton Sanctuary
5 to 27 meters
This is the best Marine sanctuary of Siquijor! A mixture of hard and soft coral in this beautiful reef, giant sponge, mini wall with scorpion fish, Ruban eel, nudibranch and turtles. A school of jack fish is turning around also. You commonly perform your safety stop in the best coral garden of the island with a school of batfish and sweetlips. Current can be strong here. Just in front of Paliton beach.
Paliton Wall
5 to 35 meters
This dive site is one of the most famous of Siquijor. For so many good reasons! First, the top of the wall is extremely rich in small fishes and hard coral, second the wall has many soft coral and gorgonians everywhere and at 33 meters, at the beginning of the dive, you can also penetrate a small cave if you are advanced open water. We have at the entry of the cave some beautiful spider crabs. Then it’s the best place on the island to find cute nudibranch and flatworm. It’ so great to spend more than 3 minutes safety stop on the top of the wall.
Turtle’s Den
4 to 28 meters
This dive is generally done as a round trip. It starts in a hard coral garden and then follows a small wall that takes us to a second, deeper reef where the first turtles await us. Then it’s time to return to shallow depths, 5 to 9 meters on the top of the reef where many turtles, greens and hawksbills, and schools of sergeant majors cross paths. It is not rare to see some nudibranchs also.
Tubod Point
5 to 27 meters
The dive site is right in front of Tubod Beach, at 15 minutes by boat from our dive center. Easy dive, ideally for beginners. There is a sandy area where you can see occasionally stingray, flamboyant cuttlefish, cowfish, and more. Then you cross a beautiful reef with alternatively hard and soft coral. That place is famous because of two big rocks where some turtles relax on the peaks.
Sawang
5 to 30 meters
Sawang means many things in Filipino language; here it means : “ to anchor”, because we are in between two cliffs who can be useful to protect boats from the waves. This site is a beautiful hard coral reef, and it can offer a lot if you take your time. Ghost pipefish, frogfish, lionfish, nudibranchs, banded sea snake and turtles. A classic dive but never boring!
Catulayan Sanctuary
4 to 18 meters
Only 800 meters from our dive center, this sanctuary is almost unknown to the others companies. 2 interests for this dive site, first, it’s very shallow with a big sandy area, so it’s easy dive for DSD or other courses. Second, we can meet nice and rare critters here, like stargazers, eel snakes, sea slugs and the blue ring octopus, so also very appreciated from advanced divers with camera.
House Reef
4 to 28 meters
The Sea Explorer’s house reef is a fantastic dive site known for its rich biodiversity and easy access from the shore. This reef is an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced divers. With its vibrant coral garden, sandy patches and occasional rocky outcrops, the site offers a diverse underwater landscape that is home to an abundance of marine creatures. Lucky divers might spot the well camouflaged frogfish. Night dives are recommended for macro lovers.
Lighthouse
5 to 25 meters
Our favorite dive site on the island! You will jump from the boat in front of a vertical high cliff, near the white lighthouse. Immediately the coral garden is amazing with so many fishes. Then the dive continues to the reef with a mix of hard and soft coral. Schools of midnight snapper, checkered snapper, dark tail snapper, long face emperor, purple anthias. Also, some groupers and scorpionfish. Many gorgonians, sponges and anemones are moving in the common mid current. Great show!
Campalanas
5 to 25 meters
Less spectacular than Lighthouse, this site is nonetheless very pretty and interesting. This reef has in some places some sandy area with coral rocks where we can see some mantis shrimps, frogfish and turtles. And it’s a rare site to meet the hump head wrasse (Napoleon) in Siquijor. This dive site, located in Lazi, is the closest to our dive center. Only 20 minutes by boat.
Cabangcalan
4 to 30 meters
This dive site is one of the most diverse in terms of its topography. In fact, the beginning of the dive offers a brown sand bottom on which stand large coral rocks. Then a long stretch of sand, initially flat, suddenly slopes steeply as far as the eye can see. On this slope you can find Pegasus, nudibranchs, cowfish, garden eels and even sea horses. Gradually, the sand disappears to give way to the reef full of life and colors.
